I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

OK, this is going to be a rant.

I listened to that fella on CNN... What he and his self-serving compatriots are saying, actually saying, is, 'Punish those stupid people, they caused the problem'. The unspoken other side of that 'diatribe' is "Reward the people (like the fella ranting on CNN) who took advantage of them". Rick Santelli on Youtube is blaming the victims for being too dumb to realize the game was rigged. Sorry, to me, that's just wrong.

I have heard that arrogant rant before from several people including my brother-in-law. The bottom line being, and what they are suggesting is that this Country was really founded by PT Barnam, there is a sucker born every minute... let the buyer beware. I think they are short sighted, 'I got mine, screw you' greedy bastards... sorry, I think the Tea Party Movement is misguided, they look like a firing squad aiming their guns at anything that moves.

Without regulation by a strong government 'Of The People' we are all the mercy of any business that is smart and ruthless enough to figure out a way to take our money, and that is what Mr. Santelli and the Tea Partiers are actually saying they want.

I believed in Smith Barney and I believe that the people I dealt with at Smith Barney believed what they were preaching. But I lost half my retirement because I believed that the people I was trusting were regulated by a strong government, I was wrong. The SEC and their sister agencies that I believed were on my side were actually being controlled and manipulated by Congressmen who were in turned being controlled by the Chairman of Goldman Sachs and their ilk. The SEC that was put in place by a Democrat had been defanged by Reagan and the Bush tag-team. The SEC was powerless to deal with the 'Creative Accounting' done by WorldCom, ENRON, Global Crossing, Robinson Accounting and all the others. They were totally outmaneuvered by Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and all the other 'too big to fail' Big boys.

Here's where I am coming from. I know a few people who got 'upside down' on on their mortgages... my son was one of them, he and his wife and three kids lost their house and just about everything he had been working toward for 15 years. He is not a jerk and he is not a looser, he is a hard worker with a steady income who is guilty of being conned by a fast talking Real Estate salesman who probably honestly believed that the crap he was spouting about finance and property values was true. They got caught up in a very sophisticated Pyramid Scheme like thousands of other people who were guilty of trusting assholes like that jerk who gave the rant on CNN, they had faith in in the people they were dealing with. Why aren't the Presidents of the Mortgage companies and banks and GMAC and all the others in Jail. Why haven't those liars and thieves lost everything they own, why are the victims still being persecuted by the courts and MSNBC, FOX and CNN and the lame Tea Party.

We are leaving for Niagara in the morning... six of us in a minivan... yeah, I know... I am old enough to know better... I am sure the girls will keep Facebook updated with our progress.

Ethiopians imagine their gods as black and snub-nosed; Thracians blue-eyed and red-haired. But if horses or lions had hands, or could draw and fashion works as men do, horses would draw the gods shaped like horses and lions like lions, making the gods resemble themselves. -Xenophanes, philosopher and poet (c.570-475 BCE)

We left for Buffalo wedged into the KIA Minivan like sardines. We made it to Kellogg Idaho and I decided that the tires needed to be replaced. The tread was warn but what ws worrying me was a vibration. Looking at the tires closely I saw that the inside of the tires were all worn. The alignment was way off. I got tires and an alignment and we were back on the road in 45 minutes. Les Schwab in Kellogg Idaho, I highly recomend them for fast, competent, courteous service.

Snow  all afternoon in Montana, We made it to Miles City and got a Motel 6... recommendation, not so much.

"Four sorrows ... are certain to be visited on the United States. Their cumulative effect guarantees that the U.S. will cease to resemble the country outlined in the Constitution of 1787.

Second is a loss of democracy and Constitutional rights as the presidency eclipses Congress and is itself transformed from a co-equal 'executive branch' of government into a military junta.

Third is the replacement of truth by propaganda, disinformation, and the glorification of war, power, and the military legions.
