Saturday March 1 , 2003 "There's no 'I' in 'team'. But then there's no 'I' in 'useless smug colleague', either. And there's four in 'platitude-quoting idiot'. Go figure." I took the kids to see "Daredevil" It was not as good as it could have been, but it is a hell of a lot better than I thought it would be... the kids liked it too. I was unfamiliar with the character, the comic came out after I lost interest in the genre. Apparently comic book characters are a lot more emotionally vulnerable, involved and conflicted than they were in my day. I have mentioned this before, I really enjoy Motocross (Supercross)... I can get the race results live on the net... it's pretty neat. Motocross riders are among the best conditioned athletes in the world. I think all professional athletes are special people from the aspect of commitment... strong egos come with the package too. All of them seem to have split personalities too, the public side and the competitor side... In Motocross there is always a rider just a little bit better than all the rest and there are always 3 or four guys who are the elite of the class. The 250 class is Ricky Carmichael and the 125 is Brandon Jesseman in the East and James 'Bubba' Stewart in the West... Ricky's competition is an Australian named Chad Reed and a Frenchman named David Vuilleman... the race just ended: Not the times in red... 4th place was 14 seconds behind third...
I got some information on a new Association of Retired TELCO employees... I am checking it out... the e-mail is on the ROF page/ Sunday March 2 , 2003 Kelly Ripa, Regis' effervescent co-host has given birth to a baby boy. She was so relentlessly cheerful during labor the doctors had to give her something to induce pain. This made me grin this morning: Christy took Sandy shopping, she took Calie, Cindy and Autumn with her. Monica is tearing herself up again, she isn't taking care of herself at all and she always wears T-shirts and black Levi's. Christy happened to see her in the tub and was appalled. Her legs and arms are a mess. I bought some Wolfgang Puck canned vegetable soup at Albertsons a while back, I made a can for lunch... it's delicious... Had the Clam Chowder for dinner... just as good. I took the little girls to Walmart and bought Monica a new bike...she's sleeping with it.
