Friday June 1 , 2007 I refuse to be silent any longer. I refuse to be party to an illegal and immoral war against people who did nothing to deserve our aggression. My oath of office is to protect and defend America's laws and its people. By refusing unlawful orders for an illegal war, I fulfill that oath today. U. S. Army First Lt. Ehren Watada Christian stayed home today, that makes it one day at school this week... Mike and his girlfriend are camping at Box Canyon Dam. Monica is at her friend Amy's house, I took them to the dam to swim, I watched them from the vista point, they just played. Cindy is at the movies, it's called The Invisible, got terrible reviews from most and raves from a few. It seems like all I did is run from one place to another all day... we had another power outage so I lost this page... I am trying to remember what I had written her but my mind is a blank, I doubt that it was all that interesting. Saturday June 2 , 2007 I swore never to be silent whenever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. Elie Weisel Mowed the lawn today, I had been mowing down by the shop and hit a piece of angle iron, nothing seemed to be damaged so I finished up and went to mow the lawn by the house I noticed after doing about 50 feet that the middle blade scalped the lawn pretty good. I took the mower back down to the shop and saw that I had bent the hell out of the middle blade... I took it off and bent it back and it seems to be cutting OK now... Mike and Lexi are still camping, Cindy is at the dam swimming, Monica and Christian are in the basement and Calie is in Spokane with Trevor's family watching him play basketball. Been pretty hot today, in the low 90's. I was reminded of an Unusual correspondence. I came in contact with a lady who seemed very friendly and interested in sharing data on the Daggett Purinton families, first (In 2001) she said she didn't have a database (GEDCOM) so on 11/25/2001 I had sent her some data to get her on the right track. Then, two years later (In 2003) she said she had a GEDCOM file but wouldn't share it... very odd... too many contacts out there to be terribly concerned about this but it did seem strange and oddly disappointing. Like I may have alienated her or something... I remember that I wrote her a reply and had the presence of mind to delete it before I sent it out. The last thing I want doing Genealogy is hassles. Not worth the aggravation. I really don't like hassles, I like to argue but I have to be careful not to argue about something I am passionate about... I get blindsided occasionally and tear into an argument and get too angry, I can't present a good argument when I am upset. Sunday June 3 , 2007 There doesn't seem to be very much malice in the world. There is simply not enough intelligence to conduct the intricate affairs of a complex civilization. All the chief actors in the war appear now in the light of children who played with dangerous toys. If they were criminal it was in the sense that the weal of millions was involved in their dangerous games and they didn't let that fact dissuade them from their play. All human sin seems so much worse in its consequences than in its intentions. Reinhold Niebuhr I dropped Cindy off at the High School for her Senior Trip to an amusement area at Lake Chelan... a 5 hour trip! Monica, Autumn and Christy joined me for breakfast at Cathy's... we decided to go to Colville to get Monica and Autumn swimsuits, we also did shopping at Wal-Mart... Big day at the Dr's tomorrow, Dermatologist and Oncologist... |
