... My scanner died last night... the light burned out, the light costs $105.00
an new Scanner costs $98... I love no-brainer decisions.
I
went to the post office and all of downtown is awash in movie people, trucks,
cops, cameras, and people, about a hundred of them. I went into the
Market
after crossing the line of cops and "Staff" weenies. I went to the checkout
counter and was about to start my rant on movie people, I said "How long has
this been going on" Expecting to hear a "God, aint it awful" but instead in a
gush, They came in last night, they were all set up by the time I got here,
Clint Eastwood is directing a Movie "Blood Supply". she was just giddy with all
the hub-bub. Sooo I stifled my rant and smiled. I went outside and sure enough
Ole Clint was out there behind the camera... I gotta admit, it's hard not to be
a little excited by the fact Clint Eastwood is in town. So I took a picture...
or three... or six... Clint Eastwood is cool.

... Christy has classes in the morning and at noon. Autumn is still sick, she is
acting OK but still has a slight fever... I was up till 0100 last night messing
with my Sacnner and trying to make the software work, I ended uo having to
delete everything and download 8 files from MicroTek at 15 minutes a file...
Grrrrr. It seems to work OK. Omni Page won't work with it, I deleted it last
night, had to wait till morning to get the Serial Number from Carae/ScanSoft
and now I cant get it to work because it says I took too long to register it, I
will call them back tomorrow. I had to write to them...
I am trying to reload OmniPage on my new PC, when I (try to) open
OmniPage I get the error message: The OmniPage Pro registration period has
expired.
Please open Omnipage Pro to register it with the Caere Corp.... etc
When I click OK in that Error Message a new Error window opens saying:
"Failed to create empty document"
It was already registered on my Old Computer, (I had to call Customer Support to
get the Serial Number)
How do I override this "Feature/Bug/self-destruct
mechanism/software time-bomb".
I can't open the program because it isn't registered within some arbitrary time
limit (but it was) and I can't register it unless I open the program... Catch 22
Mike was a jerk at school today... ho humm, apparently he
is clued into the fact he will be changing schools and, as his Modus Operandi
dictates,. he is burning bridges... I just can't seem to get through to him.

Christy took Mike to the gym at 0430... I didn't see the note she put on my PC
(Believe it or not) Mokie had crawled into bed on Christy';s side so in my
bleary condition I thought she was Christy and when I went in to give Mike his
medicine he was gone... I didn't know what to think, I went back and saw that
Christy was gone too and then I spotted the note... damn... hell of a way to
start the day
Autumn stayed home sick, she seems fine and there is no fever, I will take
her to school tomorrow. Christian slept till noon... I have a hard time with
him, best to just leave him alone...
... I have been working on my Genealogy file for the past week pretty intensely,
I have added a bunch of my Aunts data and other data from a fella named Harry
Preble... over 300 people and about 20 pages of text, I just noticed that all
the stuff I have added, has been entered in the wrong file... luckily the merge
feature worked to get all the stuff I have been working on entered into the
correct file... Burrr... scary, I know that there is stuff missing but ...
that's the way it goes...
I took Autumn out to buy some clothes, and Calie was my helper. I let Calie take
Autumn to the McDonalds in Wal-Mart I gave her money and she just handled it...
I watched her from a distance and she really did a good conscientious job.
Shoot!... Just dawned on me I should have taken a picture.

... Got a call from Mikes teacher, Mike is just not cutting it... I need to
get hold of Mike's psychiatrist. Mike appears to be coming unraveled... He gives
the teacher hell all day, he has no respect for anybody, if they get in his way
he gives em hell, when he gets home and collapses, he sleeps till about 2230
then he gets up and is a general jerk till 2200... this is really getting old.
Christian is having trouble too, he can't seem to focus, Mike can't seem to
un-focus, he is so intense and hyper it's hard to deal with. He is making me
nuts too. He cam out and told me "It's 2130 and Mike is on the phone and I need
to go to sleep." I said "OK" and went in and told mike to get off the phone, he
did and Christian went out and turned on the TV. Mike got pissed, (can't really
blame him, it would have angered me too) and Christian just laughed and made
jokes... He has an absolute zero sense of self preservation...
