Tuesday February 26, 2001.. Autumn had a seizure this morning... we found her on the floor in our bedroom... she was just barely spasming by the time we found her so it was almost over... her eyes were sort of staring off into space... she was weak from the ordeal so we kept her out of school... It turned out we really didn't need to because she was a pistol by 10:30 but since we had already called the school to tell them she wouldn't be in we kept her out. Christy and I took Autumn and went shopping together at Staples... we bought a bunch of stuff for her new Teaching/Consulting business... we bought an overhead projector... I am the only person I know that owns an overhead projector... sorta cool... sorta not Christy took all the girls shopping for clothes... they needed them they were looking like rag-pickers... Mokie always looks like she was just back from slopping hogs... Mokie has her own idea of style, she wears black Levi's and short sleeved pull-over shirts. She will not wear a coat, even when the temperature is in the 30's... I make her put on a coat before she gets out of the truck... I don't want someone reporting me for not providing her with proper and appropriate attire... She takes it off as soon as she goes around the corner. She can't abide girly-girly clothes... she will fight like a dervish if we try to make her wear a dress... so funny... she is a doll, I think she will be an exotic beauty when she grows up... her voice and appearance are both striking, her pugnaciousness is going to be a problem... the guy she marries will have to be of Petruchio's ilk. I am helping Christy put together a synopsis of all the courses she has been trained to teach... she is really pretty good at teaching... She can wake up at 0400 not knowing anything about a subject and read till 0800 get dressed and at 0900 start talking to a class of 30 or so people, not stop for three hours and get rave evaluations... it's getting late... Tuesday February 27, 2001 .. Got a late start on the day... Seems like I have been in a hurry all day, doesn't seem like I accomplished much though... I helped Christy finish up her presentation material... I ought to post it here... it's pretty impressive. It's been raining all day, the roads are pretty much gone... just riverbeds now... getting in and out of here is an adventure. I worked on a Database program that the College sent over, it is going to be the list that Christy will use when she contact's people for the college, It is a fairly simple form that she has to fill out but it has so many options that designing a computerized form for her to type into while she is talking to the Foster - Adoptive parents was a little tricky. Access has improved over the years since I used it last but it still confuses me, the terms used are so nerdy I can't figure them out: What do you want to do?In a form, create a bound list box or combo box that displays data in an Access database Create a bound list box, combo box, or drop-down list box in a Microsoft Access project or data access page that retrieves data from a record source Create an unbound list box, drop-down list box, or combo box that displays fixed values Create an unbound list box, drop-down list box, or combo box that displays values from a table or query in a database That sort of stuff just makes my brain turn to mush... Wednesday February 28, 2001 .. Finally, this month is almost history... it is still raining... the ground is so saturated the puddles aren't going away... Seattle's 6.8 earthquake and LA's rain make me wonder what's going on... things are all turned around. Rob is down here in Corona setting up some deal, Stephanie was up in Gig Harbor when the quake hit... 10:55 6.8 40 miles under ground... the epicenter was about 15 miles from their house. Stephanie said that they lost a little water out of the fish tank but that was about it... their neighbor had some structural damage though. My PC runs out of "User Resources" a friend turned me on to a program that periodically goes in and frees up abandoned memory... seems to work pretty good... www.analogx.com for those who are interested
