When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.

John Muir, naturalist, explorer, and writer (1838-1914)

I took Christian to the dentist and then to breakfast... he ordered the Lumberjack Slam at Denny's and ate about 1/2 of it... when will I learn.

"You got to be careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there."

-- Lawrence Peter Berra (b. 1925),

Margaret complained about having to scroll  to read last weeks page... I checked... she was right. At Low Resolution 640X480 or  800X600 I had to scroll left and right to read... took me a few minutes to figure out that the trouble was that the picture of Calie's note was too big, I thumb-nailed it and it seems to work OK now. My resolution is set 1280X1024, my vision isn't perfect but the text is so sharp and clear it doesn't seem to matter, at that resolution I don't have to scroll from side to side.

New Years Eve

I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country.

Thomas Jefferson

What a wonderful quote, damn... it boggles me to consider that this concern was a fear that long ago. It is also reassuring to ponder that  the country, it's Constitution and laws have survived and managed to fight off corporate greed and corruption till now. It gives me hope that the country will eventually wake up and see what's going on and we can strive to treat each other, on every level, with honesty and respect  instead of deception and contempt.

I am watching Cirque du Soleil on the Bravo Channel I have never seen such amazing stuff, it reminds me of The Ed Sullivan Show on steroids. I have never see such accomplished acrobats. The clowns were so funny they almost put me in the hospital... If you have Satellite, or can get the Bravo Channel. look it up.

Still trying to find some fond remembrance of 2002. My trip Sacramento for The Hangtown MX race and the trip to the Cogswell Reunion in Seattle were fun... Autumn's first day in the first grade was noteworthy... The Corporate fraud, betrayal of the public trust by politicians and CEO's, accounting collusion, economy in the toilet fro three years and my disappearing IRA, two trashed vehicles, gaining weight, tired all the time, blah blah blah whine whine whine... it just irks me that I have to wrack my brain so hard to find something up-beat that happened in 365 days... too tired... Cindy & Autumn went to bed but the rest of us shard some Sparkling Cider and watch Dick Clark count down the seconds in Time Square... Whoopie...

Lets pray for a Happier New Year
