August Week 1, 2006 |
|
Tuesday August 1 , 2006 The unconscious mind is decidedly simple, unaffected, straight-forward and honest. It hasn't got all of this facade, this veneer of what we call adult culture. It's rather simple, rather childish. It is direct and free. -Milton H. Erikson, psychiatrist (1901-1980) I picked up Christy at the hospital today... she called about 0730 to say they were issuing the release papers. I picked up Suzie and Karen and we drove to Spokane, Christy wasn't quite ready so we had breakfast at Franks Diner. We got home about 1400
Wednesday August 2 , 2006 "People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid." I went to the dump and then to Cathy's with the family for breakfast... Christy is really tired and should have stayed in bed today... her thigh and the incision is still sore. Thursday August 3 , 2006
The most valuable thing
you can make is a mistake - you can't learn anything from being perfect. Went to see Mike, he will be home on the 28th... (Same day Christian gets back from Southern California Karen and Suzie decided to stay here for one more day. We had dinner last night. Christy is still very sore and weak, she sleeps a lot. Friday August 4 , 2006 What progress we are making. In the Middle Ages they would have burned me. Now they are content with burning my books. - Sigmund Freud, neurologist, founder of psychoanalysis (1856-1939) Calie's birthday today... she is 15... heard to believe. Seems like yesterday she was a baby falling asleep on my chest... damn. We stiffed her on her birthday last year by asking her to wait till we can take her out shopping I did go back and read my entries for Calie's Birthdays past... I forget how sweet she can be. Saturday August 5 , 2006 "There are two ways of constructing a software design; one way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies. The first method is far more difficult." It's pretty obvious that I don't have much time to devote to this page... I really wish there was some way to get it all down here but I don't type fast enough or think fast enough.
Sunday August 6 , 2006 Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in. Alan Alda, actor and director (1936-)
I haven't accomplished anything all weekend... exasperating. I need to walk more, I am getting so fat I can't even bend over to pick up something off the floor unless I take a deep breath...
