2003 12/11/2003 Quite a few folks showed up, one of the larger ROF's 11/13/2003 We had a real good turnout tonight, A fella I had never met named George Andaus came, also, Joe Mikus, John Martin, Jim Milewsky, Scilia Perez, Ed & Carmen Makabenta, Jeff Beam, Lois Taylor, Tony Natoli, Joe Land and (play drum-roll here, after seven years of promises, Phil Wolff finally showed up... very cool... I had a good time.
I want to keep this page simple but I need to have a way to point to fliers on retirements and other functions. I also intend to provide a place for folks to post their own messages here, if my ISP was 'Frontpage Enhanced' it would be no problem but it's not and the only way to update this thing is by FTP, so until I figure out how, just send me an e-mail with your comments, notice, suggestions whatever and I will post it myself. Thanks
Patricia Hendricks has tentatively accepted an invitation to join us next month, July 10th, for scintillating conversation and to partake of the epicurean delights prepared by the fine Cordon Bleu [of Tijuana] chefs at Shakey’s posh dining emporium. Several people have asked me to post a picture of Jim and Patricia (don't call me Pat), she said she didn't like the one on the left... but I do… click on them to enlarge. 5/8/2003 Lots of folks showed up, Joe & Darlene Mikus, Lois Taylor, Joe Land, Fazington (sp), Jeff Beam, Tony Natoli, Bev, Carrie, Scilia, Joann and Tony Williams, John Kennedy... I left early, just wasn't tuned in I guess... 4/11/2003 I got the sad news last night that Rick Galceran passed away yesterday from the complications of a long illness. I got a call from Tony Natoli this morning confirming it. Tony had a call from Rick’s Sister Rexine I have known Rick off and on since 1971, he was one of the good guys… He retired from Pac Bell and went to work with Mike Rhymer at Pacific Access, I believe Rick retired from them a few years ago but I could be wrong about that. Richard Zane Galceran June 29, 1944 - April 09, 2003 4/17/2003 I drove to Colton for Rick's funeral, I figured I would be the sole representative from this part of the world... I figured wrong... the little chapel was standing room only, lots of family but I think there were more Phone People... I felt good about that. I wish I could remember all the names but I knew some, like I said... I am lousy with names. I will ask Sylvia and Nancy to help me remember. (List below is from Nancy and Sylvia) Nancy & Efren Abrego Tony Natoli Bob & Marlis Marchman Leo & Bernie Magnani Cheryl & Ernie Pascua Joe Castruita Jean Smith Sharon Mitchell Marta Vizcarro. Sylvia Marlow & Pat Jacobs
3/1/2003 TRA I got this from Gary Ireland and I have asked him, Dick Brink and Pat Jacobs to check into the credibility of the people driving it and the viability of getting involved. I am tired of sitting back and doing nothing. I am in the process of checking this outfit out, there is nothing on the Net about it but they seem to be worth checking out, I lave asked a few friends to look into it. Click on TRA above and you can read all I know about it.
2/17/2003 John Brooks I went to John Brooks' memorial service at Eternal Valley, John died on the 11th. The little chapel at Eternal Valley was into the overflow seating, I suspect that more people showed up than they expected. Dick Brink got up and said a few words, it was nice... Dick can get a little 'windy' but he did well, it was obvious that he had a lot of respect for John and that came across clearly. From our bunch besides Dick I talked with Bob Creo, Sherry Bragger, Tony Natoli and Royce Boyston (sp). I thought better of going to the reception because I didn't know him except in passing.
1/11/2003 Thomas -Dennis Williams The Memorial service for Thomas -Dennis Williams was today in Van Nuys, it was a nice ceremony, quite a few people showed up from every aspect of his life.
1/9/2003 We had a pretty good turn out for the ROF, hope even more of you can come next month, Lisa made me blot out her picture, can't imagine why.
1/4/2003 Retirement Party for Carrie and Sue Carrie Cabunoc and Sue Heil both retired a while back and they and about 8 others, held a retirement party at The 94th Aero Squadron, for those of you who haven't been there in a while it has changed quite a bit... they let the Valet Parking go to their head... it was loud and cramped and there wasn't enough seating but it was a lot of fun anyway. I didn't know a quarter of the people that came but I knew enough of them to feel comfortable. I will list the ones I can remember: Besides Sue and Carrie; Darlene and Joe Mikus, Jim Milewsky, John Martin, Sue Cowan, Beverly Barker & Gramlich, Diane Infererra, Lisa Love, Mike Harrington, John and Wendy Kennedy, Ona Huish (In a dress), Becky Dorshner, Scilia Perez, John Downing, Bobbie (U's 2 B Simms)...and about 150 others. |
