The picture taken at the Atlantic City USS Cogswell Reunion came... Like the tie? Monday October 8, 2001 ... Cindy refused to go to school again, morning is such a struggle... it is getting so that I just dread getting out of bed... all the kids went to school but Cindy was very late... Christy went to Kaiser in Panorama City for a test of her carotid arteries, they did a sort of sonogram on them... there appears to be no problem... it is one of the tests they are going to do to try to figure out why she is having trouble seeing out of her left eye... I was working at the computer and heard the alarm on my UPS go off, I powered down the PC and went looking... all the lights in the house were off... everything... I went outside to find Christian and he was playing with the dog, I walked around back and saw that the cover to the circuit breaker was propped up. I looked closely... all the breakers were thrown... I yelled for Christian... I said "Did you turn off the breakers"... he said "No",,, I said "Christian... they can't turn themselves off.".. he said "Well maybe I did" I said "Christian, WHY!!!" "I don't know..." "You did it Christian... why did you do it?" "I just wanted to see what would happen..." I met Christy on the freeway and gave Christian to her so that they could get to their classes at 12:30. She and Christian have another class at 1730... I went out and priced DSS Receivers...Remote Satellite receiver fried when the power was kicked back on $49 on the internet, $99 at Best Buy, $79 at Radio Shack
Mike kicked out of school for 5 days... I can't tell y'all why... suffice to say he was a world class jerk... Newsflash! This just in: The IRA has reportedly hijacked the Goodyear blimp. They have bounced it into Big Ben five times already.
Tuesday October 9, 2001 ..Cindy went to school, I got the big kids to school on time but Autumn was late... I hate that... They mark her tardy and it's not her fault... it's mine... petty of them and ultimately irrelevant but it still irks me. I took Mike to Therapy with Steve M. He seems pretty sharp and seems to have zeroed in on Mike... He will see Mike on Thursday at 11:00, He said "I am here on Thursdays for "Crisis Intervention", I think Mike qualifies" Mike refused to help Christy get the kids while I went shopping... so I had to get them,,, I took off at about 15:30 and didn't get back till 1860... Went to Radio Shack to get a new receiver for the satellite system to replace the one Lumpy fried, Then Albertson's to return the Spy Kids tape, Costco to get the pictures and then home... Christy made dinner... I called Doane about Cindy, Mike and "B"... We need to get them all in... "B" is doing OK... Cindy seems to be better off Medicine but she is still having a lot of trouble coping with school, and Mike is a total whacko... I have no idea what to do about him... Why is it called tourist season if we can't shoot at them? Wednesday October 10, 2001 ..Christian Mike and I took Autumn to Therapy, then School... I had to take Christian back home to get his swim suit (He left it home on purpose because he didn't want to go to school, yes... he is that devious) then to the College for his class... Mike worked on the Volkswagen, I am very tired... I will try to embellish this later... wonder if the pneumonia is catching up to me again. I helped Cindy with her homework... she is just a lost soul... she hasn't got even the faintest inkling about what to do... not the faintest... Watched Paul Newman in a movie called "Where the Money Is" wonderful movie. There were flashes of the old Paul Newman in it, like watching his character from "The Sting" in later years... the movie was a really fun. I watched another movie called Caracara too... pretty good flic not nearly as fun or as well acted as the first but still a darn good story... a couple actors were not up to the roles but only a couple.. Thursday October 11, 2001 ..Christy is gone to Dr & school till 1500, I got the kids to school that still go to school. I took Autumn to Therapy with Mike and Christian. We dropped Autumn off at Meadowlark and then we took Mike to Therapy in Saugus...When we went home... Christian was supposed to be on the computer doing school work, Mike was supposed to clean... didn't happen. I went to get the kids and Christy got home about 1630, I took off for the ROF. The ROF was only John and I for a while, then Jerry Beach showed up and Jeri Posner came by a little later. John and I had a discussion about politics and it wasn't much fun. John said he thought that these sort of discussions were driving folks away... he may be right... the folks that go to the ROF all have lives that involve other adults and they aren't as desperate to have discussions about what's going on in the world as I am... as a matter of fact they have probably worn out the topics and don't want to rehash it all over again just for my benefit... can't really blame them... now, here's the problem... I have no interest in traveling down there to talk about the weather, I get envious when I hear about the trips they take and the new cars and on and on... the pizza is mediocre and I don't need beer. I have to think about this for a while... Friday October 12, 2001 ...Not much took the Taurus in... fan motor burned up... Thought it would be about $50 to replace the fan motor... nope, it's a Ford... "Ford has a better way" can't buy the motor... $289.00 for the whole damn assembly... I told the shop Tom and Jeff I had Wynn's Product Warranty, they laughed at me... there were three cars in the shop with Wynn's Warrantees... Wynn's ducked out of every single one of them it's a scam... I really hate being scammed... Saturday October 13, 2001 ...I took the kids to see "Max Keeble's Big Move" they liked it...I went to see "Bandits", it's a very good movie... lots of fun, good dialog, lots of action... improbable plot... . When we got back we got ready to go to a Wedding Shower for Sabine and Hugh from Christy's church. Lots of people there... Mike was a jerk and "B" wasn't having any fun so I grabbed Autumn and went home. Mike is really making me nervous, he is capable of virtually anything, mostly it's his mouth, he is rude and profane, it is embarrassing to be associated with him sometimes but people make allowances, most folks can shine him on... but still, he's working hard to get himself taken away... he just won't listen to reason... if he wants to go home and we want to stay he will make himself so obnoxious we have to take him out of there... that's what he did tonight, he just doesn't care how many bridges he burns to get what he wants... he's self destructive.
