Garrett Gene Bowers... "Dad" at home...
"Gary" at work. I'm a transplant from
Alaska. My wife, Judy is a Californian (she was actually born in
Connecticut, but doesn't want anyone to know - so I won't tell you). I can't seem to
get her to go to Alaska because "its too cold!" Kimberly and Michael were
born in Riverside, CA. Michael and I took a Trip
To Alaska several years ago. Michael says, "I got
to see every house Dad ever lived in!" as he rolls his eyes. He liked the rest of it
though. |
I can never thank my mother or my sister enough for that trip. Being able
to show my son where I grew up gave me such a "rush!" And the trip to
Seward, and then through the Kenai
Fjords was incredible! It was an experience neither Michael nor I will ever
forget. Thanks Mom and Merrianne! You're the
best!! NOTE: Alaska Trip story and pictures in
work... be sure and come back to see!
I'd have more pictures of the family here, 'cept Judy wishes to remain anonymous (the
police are looking for her) and Michael, my 14 year-old son, has spiky hair and might
scare you. But, once the law quits looking for Judy, and Michael gets over the
spiked hair phase, I'll see what I can do.
- My Family
-
- My wife, Judy, to whom I've been married 17 years. Daughter Kimberly
(12
going on 22) and Son Michael (15), "The Student." Both Kimberly and
Michael attend Christian Schools. Kimberly has recently discovered
boys to my chagrin! Michael wants a new Mustang - HA! Both are
obviously dreamers.
-
- Computers
- I'm a computer fanatic, geek, or "Guru" if you can believe the people at work.
I fell in love with computers and computing in 1986 (the "DOS" world!)
and have been fascinated ever since. I enjoy not only learning new stuff, but
teaching others. I get a kick out of seeing people's eyes light up when something I
teach them works. I've applied for a part-time teaching position at Antelope Valley
College and may even develop a business helping people... we'll see. See my Guru page.
- Other
- Genealogy, reading (Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, Computer Magazines), watching
Discovery and History Channels. I've been a "Trekkie" from the
very beginning.
I enjoy making things with wood... except the garage is such a mess, I can't
find my tools! Dancing, exercise (when I can force myself),
going to shows with my wife, taking the kids to school, helping Kimberly
with her homework (sometimes!).
