MOJAVE DESERT OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION

(UPPER DESERT CHAPTER)

HIGH SCHOOL OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION

(SOCCER)

The High School soccer season will soon be upon us again.  All returning high school soccer referee's must re-certify by attending the Southern California Soccer Officials Association (SCSOA) 9 hour re-certification clinic, complete the MDOA/ SCSOA tests, physical performance testing and pass the National Federation Soccer Rules examination.

Re-certification schedules will be mailed to each soccer referee that officiated last season.  It is mandatory that all officials be certified by not later than October 31.  Any new soccer referees that wish to be certified as high school referee's must attend an 8 hour Introductory Clinic in addition to the above requirements.

Southern California Soccer Officials Association (SCSOA) is the only organization recognized by the California Interscholastic (CIF) for Southern California high school soccer contests.  Its purpose is to train and certify high school soccer referee's, instructors and assessors each year and to insure a common interpretation of the rules as set forth in the National Federation Rule Book.

The Mojave Desert Officials Association (MDOA) is one of 13 SCSOA chapters covering Southern California.  Your contact person here in the Upper Desert for High School soccer is:

            Ed Lisska

            Phone # :  661-947-2762

If you are interested in officiating high school soccer this season or have any questions about becoming a certified high school referee, please contact the above person for details.

Games will start near the end of November or first week in December.

All high school matches must be officiated by certified high school referees.

Let us hear from you.  We always need referee's to help with the ever increasing number of matches as the sport grows in popularity in the United States.

The Upper Desert chapter covers high schools as far North as Bishop, South to Vasquez, East to Ridgecrest/Littlerock and Frazier Park/Quartz Hill to the West.
